Can I share some before & after pics? [Mantle]
When my boyfriend moved in I asked about repainting all of the trim white because it was all maple. He agreed & had most of the rooms done but he said he wanted to keep the family room wood. When he decided to have the mantle re-done he caved and redid the trim/book case white too. I think it looks so much better!
The old fireplace insert was black granite & the floor tiles were green. I love the way this came out! The top is solid black walnut, the tile is marble. We wanted to keep it simple because the room isn't that big.
Before:
Before, mantle was a prefab & had a dark granite insert. This is the best 'before' pic I could find, I hated the mantle so I never took a pic of it
After. Chris at West Meadow Designs again. He practically lives here

This is the great room. The fireplace goes through both rooms. It didn't have a mantle before. It just had cactus.  The old owner left them...
This is a piece of reclaimed black walnut. Chris left it out in the yard for 3 months to 'weather' it & then he had to carve the entire back with every groove and bump so it would sit flush against the rocks. It took him forever! He also had the idea for the pictures to hang off the stainless steel wire & made the track for them.
I have to take a pic of it from the side, it’s amazing how he carved it out to sit against the rocks.
