eczema/diapers/potty training - HELP!

Please help! DD is just 2. She has trouble with eczema but it is under control now, except for her diaper area. Ever since August, we have been having trouble keeping her diaper area looking good - and now it is HORRIBLE. She has been crying a lot the last two days. We are using the prescription (as directed by the dermatologist).....but in the mean time I have some questions....

We have always used Huggies. She has always been fine with them......maybe they changed something, since she has been trouble consistently since August? For now we are using "natural" diapers....something like Earth's Best...but not that brand....can't remember what it's called.

Dermatologist recommended toilet training her asap. I agree!!! But I don't think she is ready. Any advice about this?

Any tips for controlling this eczema?

TIA! Chat Icon

Re: eczema/diapers/potty training - HELP!

I would try switching diapers again. DD has eczema on her hands (only became evident at age 2), but I had issues when she was in diapers. After she grew out of Pampers Sensitive, which at the time only went up to size 2, she got rashes from several diapers- including Earth's Best. I had used Seventh Generation on her without any issues and her reaction to whatever was in the diapers cleared up-- but it does take a bit, it's not instantaneous.

eczema/diapers/potty training - HELP!

ughh my DD has the same. I have a special Cream that the dr gave me. It could even be the wipes. I only use pampers for diapers and wipes. I noticed when I got huggies wipes she would get the excema diaper rash. She just started potty training a couple of months ago and is trained. The only problem that Im having is at nigh I leave her underwear on and she has an accident the diaper rash is in full force.

Eczema in the diaper area is tough.

How about letting her "air" out in between?
