Do you think there will be school on Monday?
The more I think about it, the more I don't think so. They're off Tuesday, so I'm thinking schools will hold off until Wednesday instead of sending them back for the day. Besides, I don't think things are ready enough (roads, downed trees, power lines). I'm in Pat Med.
West Babylon already announced they are closed until 11/7.

Do you think there will be school on Monday?
Our district called today and said one of the schools is still without power, so if it's not back on, there will be no school. IF the one school gets power, they will evaluate the neighborhoods to see if it's safe to be walking to the bus stop, etc.

as of now, east islip is open monday and they will be in school tuesday, instead of being off like they were originally scheduled.

Do you think there will be school on Monday?
Levittown called to say that they are open right now despite having 3 schools currently without power still. They are also going to hold school on Tuesday instead of having off to start making up for days lost.

Do you think there will be school on Monday?
Three Village is also hoping to go back on Monday but as of now only 2 of their 8 schools have power. They will be going to school on Tuesday as well and giving up Election Day.

No classes until Wednesday for Connetquot. Election Day is also Parent-Teacher conf day, so that's staying as-is. Monday is a teacher conference day.

Do you think there will be school on Monday?
I don't think so. We still have a lot of people without power, trees blocking roads. They've been working furiously but I can't see how the buses would be able to drive through the streets.
And if the gas situation doesn't clear up, how will they get/pick up the kids? I'm assuming they have their own fuel tanks but what about the parents that pick up/drive kids to school.
and with school closed Tuesday for Election Day, we'll see how that goes.

yes, no buses... dropping off will be easy but how the heck is pick up going to work

Lindenhurst schools are closed Monday and Tuesday. They will decide about Wednesday at the Superindent's meeting on Tuesday. DS is actually crying that he misses school!

Sayville is open Monday but closed Tuesday. We are very fortunate that there was not too much damage to property around here (by comparison to other coastal areas).

It's a huge mistake that the Northport ENPT school district will be open both days. Drop off in the morning is mayhem on a normal day. Be prepared for your car to idle in line for a very long time. Normal days, I'm in line for an easy 10 minutes. Pick up will be an absolute mess... Also, at least one of the schools is a voting place on Tuesday. I can't imagine the traffic and lack of security in the building for the day. Also, when will they be disinfecting the kitchens from any spoiled food in the kitchens? Many parents are fired up about this, many are not sending their children to school.

They cancelled Northport-East Northport. State Dept of Education says the district is required to provide transportation. Kids are cheering now
