baby chewing on fist but not hungry
anyone else had their DC do this? DS will shove his fist in his mouth like he's starving but then when I give him the bottle he doesn't suck on it. He just did this after I fed him a few ounces, he broke away to eat his fist and i tried giving him more and he wouldn't take it. He is 11 weeks so I don't think this is teething, it would be too early right?

Normal. He's going to be sucking/chewing on everything for awhile! DD has been doing this since about 2.5 months and is 4 months now. Everything is in her mouth. Her hand constantly, any fabric she can grab, etc.

Oh yes...dd started around then. Now she's non-stop...everything goes in her mouth. She's about 4.5 months now and already has 2 bottom teeth, so teething can start as early as 11 weeks.

normal phase and does not necessarily mean teething. They become aware of there hands and go through an oral phase. Unfortunately this phase lasts a long time and eventually involves putting EVERYTHING in their mouths

It's just how they explore and can also be a way to soothe themselves. DD had her fist in her mouth literally since birth. She never took a paci and eventually found her thumb at around 3 months. She still has her hands and everything else she can find in her mouth at 6 months.

Completely normal developmental behavior. No, it's not too early to teethe, but chewing on hands at that age is normal regardless of teething.
My kids were early teethers, they all cut teeth at 3 and 4 months old so they were teething at that age. Some babies are born with teeth so it's never too early for teething.

Re: baby chewing on fist but not hungry
Ditto all over the above. Could be teething, definitely not too early, I got my first tooth at 3 months, DD got her first at 5. It could also be nothing. They can show signs of teething up to 2 months before a tooth actually pops through also. Or maybe she's just exploring her hand with her mouth, babies love to put anything and everything in their mouth.

my DS is 14 weeks old and he does this when he's tired. I used to think it was hunger.
