am i the only one annoyed by this... (election related)
all the phone calls at all hours of the day, the fliers in the mail, signs all over the place, people knocking at the door!!
its too much! and none of it impacts who i am voting for  i cant wait for it to end!!!!

We call it the spray and pray theory LOL.
Some of our clients are bombarded with other brokers trying to get in the door. All year long not even just at their renewal. Then if they do get a chance to look at it they send it to everyone under the sun even those who can't possibly write the coverage. So we call it the spray and pray.
Keep hoping that they'll change at least one.

 I received a voice recordered message on my home phone at 9pm one night. I was livid as DS was asleep and I am not voting for that candidate anyway

I haven't received a single phone call, person at my door, or flyer in my mailbox. I do see signs sometimes on people's lawns but not too often. I was tempted to put a sign out on my own lawn but people scare me.
If I got a phone call or visit from the "other side", I'd be annoyed. Otherwise, I'd think nothing of it.

I have not received one call. No one in my immediate neighborhood has any signs and the mail....I get so much junk it just blends in.

I always wonder that, the purpose of the lawn signs. Does anyone really go, "oh, I voted bc I saw a lawn sign for him, totally swayed my decision"

 Good point. But, I think it's more to show support than to sway voters.

Our state senator who is running for reelection showed up at my door, actually.
I'm getting a lot of calls from polling companies.
I'm totally annoyed

Oh, you know what REALLY pisses me off?
The people handing out fliers outside of church. I've also seen local candidates at church and gladhanding afterward. makes my skin crawl

I have only gotten one phone call but it was from a polling agency asking generic questions... do you plan to vote? do you know who you are voting for in certain elections? She asked if I was famiilar with any of the candidates outside of the presidential election... I didn't mind talking to her and it made me realize I had research to do other than just for the POTUS election!!

Me too. Yesterday I got a nail file with some judges name on it. That came in handy actually.

We have received so many calls, letters and personal visits from candidates at my house it is not even funny. We get something new almost every day. I will say having met all of my local candidates and having an opportunity to ask them questions directly has impacted who I am going to vote for. I have had congressmen come to my house and those of my neighbors as well as more local officials. At this point the governor is the only one who has yet to stop by but I don't think he is up for re-election. I live in suburban NJ.

Luckily, this isn't a big election year in my town so it's been fairly quiet... Last year was horrible.
I'm ready to see the end of the political statuses on FB though.

While I was out at work today I got 4 messages from campaigns - all hang-ups. So annoying. They call until 9 PM too, way after DD is asleep.
I never pick up the phone when they call. Once I got a call and the caller ID said, "Akin for Senate" (the guy who said that thing about "legitimate rape") and I was like  because I'm in NY. I wish I'd picked it up to see who it really was.
