children playing outside - what time do you think is acceptable?

So this morning (sunday), dh & i woke up to our neighbor's son and 3 of his friends playing football in the street at 7:30am. Granted, i did have the bedroom window open bc im 9 months pregnant and always sweating, but still, im not talking about a quiet game of catch. These kids were yelling and carrying on like it was a saturday afternoon at the park. I could hear them even after i closed my windows. This went on for hours.
I didnt say anything - its never happened before and i definitely dont want to cause an issue or "rain on their parade", so to speak, but im wondering - are we the weird ones, that find the time they were doing this unacceptable?
i think if it was a weekday, i wouldnt care as much - even though we'd still be sleeping (dh works 4x12s and im home from work) bc i know that most people are up that early for work, school etc and we're the minority. But 7:30 on a sunday morning? I just found it rude & obnoxious - even without bringing up the fact that i heard every curse word in the book from them.
I cannot imagine letting my child yell and carry on outside at that hour... and i know my parents would have found it unacceptable as well. So - thoughts? Am i in the minority here? What would you have thought/done if it was your neighbors? What time IS acceptable to let your kids go outside with free reign (for lack of better phrasing)?

I'd rather kids be outside playing at any time rather than sitting inside playing video games, so I don't think they were out too early.

I would be extremely annoyed but I know I wouldn't say anything, I hate confrontations...I think after 9 am would be acceptable

7:30 is way to early for that! Earlier than 9am is pretty rude.

Wait until your little munchkin is a toddler & that neighbor kids is a teen & will want to sleep til noon, you can send your kid out along with all of his/her friends screaming!! lol payback... j/k of course

Seems very odd. But could they have had a big game or something today, that they were practicing for (I know, so early)? I would see if it kept happening and only then address it possibly. Either way, yes, for sure, that's wayyy too early. Maybe 9am is better.

It is what it is, I think as long as the sun is up, the world is theirs. I would never begrudge children outside playing, I would fall back asleep eventually. I see no reason why my wanting to sleep trumps their wanting to play. I grew up in the kind of neighborhood where we were all out as soon as we had breakfast and were dressed.

To me, 7:30 s okay. They probably had breakfast at 7 and went out right after. We're up at that time and sometimes see the kids on our block outside. I'd rather that, than playing outside at midnight.

i wouldn't say anything...however, 7:30am is very early to have kids making that much noise.
i would send my child out before 9am...

I have had my kids out as early as 8:00 in the yard and or park bc they were driving me nuts in the house and I refuse to let them sit and watch tv all morning.

It looks like I'm in the minority because I'd be very annoyed if I was woken up like that at 7:30am. DH and I don't have kids so we like to sleep in on the weekends. I probably wouldn't say anything though. After 9 is ok I guess but in my ideal world I'd be ok with after 10-10:30. If I had kids that wanted to play outside that early, I'd make sure they weren't loud because I know from experience how annoying it is to be woken up at 8am to the dribbling of a basketball under my window.

How realistic would it be to train my future child(ren), should I have any, to sleep late?

It wouldn't bother me because I am usually up anyway, DS is an early riser. The cursing would have bothered me more.

If it was a one time thing then I'd ignore it. If it happens regularly then I'd address it.

Meh.

They'd be at school by that hour so it wouldn't bother me at all. I think its just nice that children were OUTSIDE actually PLAYING!

For me I let her out when I can but she's an only child so she won't stay out long and if its mosquito time I try not to get out too long either.

I am not a fan of kids playing in the street, I think we have a ton of playgrounds and parks around this area that kids should use.

People speed on sidestreets its often scary the high rate of speed i see people going, and if kids were in the street playing i am not sure if they would be able to get out of the way fast enough.
