Already starting to worry & freak out

DD was born on 9/28. DS is 5 1/2. DH was home with me until last night (he went back to work) and my mom is here (since 10/4).

Last night & this morning were my first times "alone" with DS &DD. Yes my mom was/is here and did help, but I tried to do as much myself so I'm not in total shock when she leaves next week.

But I'm starting to freak out about managing both kids by myself each morning & each evening. And then that leads to how will I handle everything when I go back to work.

The return to work is really freaking me out b/c my job is moving farther from home (I live in Calverton, currently work in Hauppauge & office moving to Bay Shore). I'm not looking forward to leaving DD at daycare for that long (7:15am - 5:30pm) at 8 wks old.

Any advise? How can I prepare myself mentally?? Looking like I'll be going back to work the week after Thanksgiving.

I never put too much thought into the leavign at daycare thing. it was a fact of life for me so I wasn't going to let myself get crazy over it. My DS started daycare at 8 weeks and is there from jsut after 7am til 530/6pm depending on train.

As for gettign everyone ready...I wake up about 30 minutes earlier than I was before kids. I get myself showered and ready before DS gets up.

Bags are packed the night before. If I ever let it go til the next mornign I am guaranteed a crazy morning. You will figure out a routine.

I too know i would have to go back, but i am having a hard time of it. I shower at night, which for now is working, and i am trying to make sure all his stuff is ready in the morning, just to prepare myself for next week. Good luck!!
