i wouldnt write out everything in the card....thats so tiring!
i would just write a generic thank you for the gift, the baby will love it (or we cant wait to use it) and we cant wait for you to meet the baby etc

This sounds about right if there are multiple items.

Thank you card heip

yeah, i did it for my bridal shower.

ETA: you dont have to write each individual thing if there were a dozen things in a basket, just write thank you for the basket full of baby stuff or something like that.

You mean if it was like a basket full of stuff?? I don't think you need to mention EVERY item, but you can/should highlight a few that you loved, etc. to show that you actually know what was in there!

haha....does she want to write it for you.... so many people dont send one or just a printed one.....

its plenty to say thank yooh for the clothes...and not detail it . or mention the larger items and say stroller and other sweetgifts

I'm a stickler for etiquette and I'm always sure to mention what the person bought. As some pp's mentioned, if it was say tons of washcloths, towels, soaps, bath toys, I'd just say "bath supplies". I personally think it's rude to just say "Thank you for your generous gift" (unless it's money, then that's what I'd say).

I seem to be in the minority these days though becuase I've recently received several "thanks for the generous gift" with no mention to what I bought or even worse, pre-printed thank you's that the person didn't even sign their name on. This is poor etiquette to me, but many people seem to think it's fine these days. Do what feels right to you.

I would say basket of ____ stuff. Or mention one or 2 of the bigger items and the "other" things.

Like... thank you for the crib sheet, blanket and other helpful baby stuff!
