crib mattress
How do you figure out which mattress to get for the crib?
Also, did you register for the mattress or just purchase it yourself?

i registered for the colgate classica II at BBB based on recommendations on here. Someone ended up buying it off the registry, but if no one did then we were just going to get it ourselves after the shower.

We got the monarch crib mattress by Colgate. Its two sided. One for newborns which is very firm and one side for toddlers which is softer.

Same here.
We have the same one for our 18 m/o. It was the recommended one in the Baby Bargains book at the time. It's also dual-sided for baby then toddler. We really like it!
My dad bought it for us when he got us the furniture.

We registered for the Serta Master Sleeper Crib & Toddler Mattress. I figured why not add it to our registry... if we don't get it we can use the completion coupon on it & buy it ourselves. We chose this one bc it's the same one my sister purchased for my niece.

Colgate Classica for me too. We registered for it and MIL got it, we sorta asked her for it because we knew no one else would buy it and we wanted it right away lol!

the lady who helped us register at bbb suggested it to us.
we put it on our registry and my mil bought it for us 
cant hurt to put it on there. if no one buys it you can buy it with a current bbb coupon or use the completion coupon they mail you
almost forgot we registered for Regal I Crib Mattress by Colgate
