bug bites
anyone know what is safe to take for bug bites? i was outside yesterday and now have these huge, itchy bug bites all over my legs and ankles. I should have known not to stay out for so long because pregnancy apparently attracts mosquitoes even more... my bites look like giant red welts! I have this stuff called campho phenique but i'm not sure if its ok for pregnancy, i tried googling it and couldn't really find anything. These bug bites are making me go mad from itchiness!!

My dr said cortisone cream was ok.
Also, what I do is put ice on it IMMEDIATELY. It's my own theory, but I think it helps stop the spread of whatever it is that makes you so itchy.

I got 3 bug bites yesterday!!! I really didn't want to put on bug spray bc I don't know if it was okay, but I ended up just putting it on my feet. I attract bugs like crazy!
I ended up using anti itch cream...dont know the brand. They are awful

Ok, this might seem gross, but it WORKS! I;ve been using this method since i was a kid. My mom used to put it on me. White vinegar! It really works! You'll obviously like smell like vinegar, but it's soooooo much better than itching! Also, witch hazel. You can use it for hemorrhoids while PG so i'm sure you can use it on mosquito bites!

My husband puts salt on bug bites, it draws the moisture out and they heal quicker. My sister claims she saw something on pinterest that said to put clear nail polish over it which prevents air from getting to them and they won't itch and should do away in two days... not sure if I would try that or if I think it actually would work...
If all else fails cortisone cream is ok to put on and will relieve the itching.

I have this too. I asked my OB about bug spray at my last appt and she it's fine. But I would still get a mild one without DEET, like for babies.
