Bedding cost
I am just curious, what is the avg. price of bedding or what are you spending? I know sets can really vary but just want to get a rough estimate.
I havent found anything I liked yet and am going to have everything made. The price is reasonable (I think) but just need to rationalize in my head!

The full custom set on Carousel was around $400. I didn't think that was too terrible but we are most likely not getting all pieces since we wont use all and need to buy 2. I've seen custom sets on Etsy for $350/$400 too.

Ok that is more than my quote so it makes me feel better. I am looking at $300 for:
2 crib sheets
2 changing pads
bumper
crib skirt
long curtain (a lined panel)
I can also add pillows for $20-25 each which isn't so bad.

I think we are doing 3 sheets per crib since we aren't doing bumpers, a throw pillow for the glider and 2 crib skirts. Then I'll buy a few yards of their fabric at $15/yd to make a vallance and get some long white drapes. Maybe 2 changing pad things. I never totalled it like this, but it will be less than $400 each because the comfortors alone were $140.

I was doing a pillow for the glider. Most people put the comfortor on the glider but a pillow is much cheaper. For us especially since we aren't getting bumpers.

A local girl is making it - I live OOS. She made my friends bedding and it came out beautiful. I am going with a very specific color theme and could not find anything that I like or was gender neutral enough.
I agree I want a pillow for the chair or glider. Her charge is $12.00 plus fabric and pillow insert so I estimated $20ish. She also does monogrammed pillows which may be nice to add blue or pink in the monogram after baby comes (we are team green).
Or I may be able to find something to match on my own!

Nope. Its usually hung over the side of the crib or glider for deco. I've heard some people used it but not those big bulky ones.

Pottery Barn kids was having a great sale and I got all my bedding for $150. Included was a decorative pillow sham, pillow insert, sheet, bumpers & bed skirt

I couldn't see spending a lot of the bedding since a lot of what comes in the sets isnt necessary. Plus, I was REALLY picky with the style of the bedding. We got ours on amazon for only 120. It came with the dust ruffle, quilt, bumper and sheet.
