beyond-rude comment
i just walked into work and a co-worker of mine (somebody i always say hi to, but we rarely speak more than that) stopped me and said
him: can i tell you something...?
Me: sure, what's up?
him: you're getting fat
what the f- .... how rude is that!? i mean, i barely talk to the guy - who is he to say that to me! especially phrased like that!
but wait - it gets better!
my response was: yeah well that's what happens when you have a baby growing inside you
him: oh, you're pregnant, congratulations!
so um yeah .... he didn't even know i was preggo and he was telling me that i'm getting fat! i'm so offended and annoyed!
freakin' jerk!
ok, vent over, thanks for listening

usually, i'm not one to get offended by comments, but yes that was pretty rude!
i probably wouldnt have cared if it was someone i was close with and they said, hey you look to have gained some weight, but where does this guy think he can say that to you??

i was just so shocked he said that that my brain stopped working.
he's also Indian with a very heavy accent so it took me a minute to figure out if i really heard him correctly

Seriously, this is ridiculous.
I think that says a lot about that person. He is going out of his way to be hurtful towards someone else. The way you described it, it's not like something was intended as a joke or something.
This person is just horrible - be happy that you barely have to interact with him and stay clear. Feel bad if he has wife anywhere, imagine what he must say to family, etc. where he doesn't even have to try to be professional

That is sooooo rude!!! I would have punched him!!!!
I had some random crazy lady at Target yell "WHEN ARE YOU DUE?" from 2 aisles away at me the other day. I have to say, for 18 weeks I look like I could just be fat still. What if I wasn't pregnant? WTH is wrong with people.
