baby head up/down question

i should probably know this but am soooo confused for some reason.

In the beginning of the pregnancy, is the baby supposed to be head up or head down?

I'm 20 weeks and at my sono yesterday, LO had his feet up by my ribs and his head was facing down, but i thought that babies are generally head-up until the last few weeks.

thanks and sorry for the stupid question

It doesn't matter at this point because there flip ALLLL AROUND when there is so much room.. they are heads up and in a second are head down and horizontal.

It matters later in pregnancy when there is less room to move.. then they need to be head down.

At my sono he was head up by my belly botton and a few seconds later.. horizontal...

my last two sonos my LO's butt was in the air with her head tucked down.. made it very easy to determine gender LOL.. but she moves around alot & was in a different position by the time the sonos were over

baby was head down 20 at 20 weeks, and i feel it move constantly, but every sono does show baby head down. Last sono at 32 weeks, was head down, baby facing back and body was moving.. but head was in place.. things can change. Many babies will move at the very end..

At this point in the pregnancy they're all over the place. At 18 weeks, DD was head up, she finally flipped around when she felt like it. Its when it's towards the end of the pregnancy when theres barely any room left, that it becomes a problem.
