Swollen legs while pregnant help

I never swelled until this pregnancy. It happened for a couple of days a few months ago, but then sat and yesterday I swelled a good amount. Ankles, felt, legs, hands. I woke up this morning and it's better, but not back to normal. Now I keep getting pins and needles in my legs, ankles, feet. Is this something I should be concerned about poor does it go along with the swelling?

I would call your doctor. The pins and needles and the swelling of the hands may be the start of pre eclampsia.

How far along are you? Several things could be happening. It could be the humidity (drink a lot of water) causing you to swell. Pins and needles isn't really a sign of preeclampsia but you could be getting pregnancy induced carpal tunnel. If you feel more swollen than normal you must call your doctor. They can take a look at you and know in a second if you are just swollen or need to be monitored for another condition. Are you feeling otherwise well?

If you are over 20 weeks I would call the doctor and get in ASAP. That is when preeclampsia can start.

Re: Swollen legs while pregnant help

Thanks ladies. I am 33 weeks. Now that the swelling is back, I don't really have the pins and needles. I am going to put my feet up and see if that helps. I see my dr tomorrow, so hopefullymimcan hold off!

Hand/Face swelling is a sign of pre-eclampsia. Please call your dr asap. Better safe than sorry. If you have any headaches, blurred vision, or stomach issues go to the ER asap.

I don't know about the swelling, but I have had pins and needles and I was told it could be sciatica.
