Washing car seat material/infant insert before using?
We just installed our car seat base, and I was wondering if I should wash the infant insert or the rest of the car seat material before the baby uses it. It's not like the baby's skin will be in direct contact, as he or she will be wearing clothing, but I thought that maybe I should anyhow. Any thoughts? TIA!

I washed everything. Car seats, rock n play, etc. My friends thought I was nuts,but it really wasn't that hard and just gave me peace of mind. That being said, none of my friends did and all their kids are fine

I only washed clothes and bedding. My DS had no issues

I only washed bedding and blankets first, not clothes or any covers. I am now since everything was stored for the past 2 years years.

I never washed the car seat inserts or anything like that - as long as it was brand new - but now that I am on my second DD, I am washing all my first DD's stuff....
