Skin issues

Pregnancy has totally made my skin just awful. It's super oily, and I keep getting breakouts. Not huge pimples, but just bumps all over, even on my chest where I never break out.

My go to treatment was PersaGel, but OB said that's a no-no. So, I've been using aqua glycolic, but that hasn't really helped much.

Anyone have any other suggestions? And, will this really end after the first trimester? I thought I was supposed to be glowing during pregnancy!

Re: Skin issues

i just posted something similar... I have heard that it gets better in the second tri. For me, it didn't start until the 2nd tri.

Your OB should be able to recommend safe products though.. Or a dermatologist can recommend something that you can clear with your OB.

Im going to the derm on monday for a simialr issue.

Chat Icon That's annoying. Def try your dermatologist and then let your OB review the ingredients in whatever she prescribes. Many girls on here have used products for similar issues.

Re: Skin issues

For me it didn't stop last pg. My skin was bad my whole pregnancy and when I was bf. I was told by derm and ob cetaphil but it didn't really help. Unfortunately for me I have bad skin again this pg. it only got better after I stopped bf and went to the derm.

Re: Skin issues

I went to my derm and was given a safe topical ointment that helped with the breakoits on my chin and back. I am 25 weeks tomorrow and the acne stopped about 2 weeks ago.

Re: Skin issues

I've been getting lots of breakouts and was told not to use the products with benzoyl peroxide or salycilic acid. I did research online and found that tea tree oil is safe. I got some at the Body Shop along with cleanser, toner, and lotion all containing tea tree oil. It seems to be helping somewhat. I still get pimples but not as much as I did before I started using it. It seems like it works better for smaller bumps, not so much for larger ones. Usually if I put it on before bed the small bumps are gone by the morning.
