FIL is a freaking idiot
FIL is so inappropriate it drives me crazy!
DH and I just posted on FB that we're expecting and FIL's comment was "Now we are waiting for the sex...that is of the child!!!!" ... who the f writes things like that on their daughter-in-law's facebook??? 
Even worse was when DH and I told FIL the news a few weeks ago. His first reaction was "oh, so i guess you got it in the right hole, huh?".
After that first comment, I actually told DH to speak with FIL and tell him that it's not appropriate and i don't like those kinds of comments. FIL said he was really sorry and didn't realize it was upsetting me and that he felt horribly. Yeah right ... if that's the case, then why would he say this thing today!?
it's just sooooo wrong!
oh, and i deleted his comment from FB just now because i don't want my friends and family seeing that

I would find that to be inappropriate too. Some people just have odd senses of humor. I don't think you should feel bad for deleting his post. I wouldn't want anyone seeing that either.

Omg What a jackass. My step FIL makes some inappropriate comments as well thinking he's funny and that everyone will laugh. I just get "funny" back at him

both of his comments are so gross!! Some people just think that everyone finds them funny and they don't realize how inappropriate they are! One of my male cousins wrote a comment when we made our pregnancy announcement (which we decided to do on DH's birthday), his comment was something like "congrats, now make sure you give Mike his REAL gift tonight ;)" (like I needed the "winky" to know what his gross comment meant!!  I replied right back to him "um, you mean cake right?" LOL he didn't reply, awkward!!

That is inappropriate and I'm sorry it bothers you. If you told DH, then FIL should know better not to make those jokes around you. However, my dad is the same way. He makes those jokes with me! It's uncomfortable and inappropriate but I know he is just trying to be funny (even if he isn't or it is still out of line) I know it is coming from a good place and just laugh it off or say "really dad? ugh" and he kind of stops (at least for that day lol). It's just his sense of humor. If this is just usually in person, then I would totally let it go. But since FB is public and I can see why it would be more upsetting/frustrating... just delete the comment and maybe DH will say something to him so that he doesn't write on your wall again (At least something like that).

you're right ... he's not trying to be inappropriate intentionally - he thinks he's being funny. However, he really needs to learn that making sexual comments is just wrong.
when i told DH about this latest comment, he called his dad right away and had a little "chat" with him. Hopefully this doesn't happen again (though i don't have high hopes)

Your fil sounds like my idiot step-fil.
The first time we announced our preg, his first words were hey, your dad is so strict but I guess he now knows you had sex. a-hole!
In those next 7 months of being preg, he had made a couple of other rude comments & I told DH to have a convo wth him that it better end or else I will never allow my kids to go over there. It has since stopped.

wow! that's pretty awful too! glad to hear it's stopped since that though!
