Question for those who broke water

1. Did your water continue to leak, or was it just a one time leakage?

2. Did you start having contractions shortly after that, and if so how much longer after the water broke.

Doctor doesn't think i broke my water last night..but just curious about these questions...i may go into doctor today just to confirm i didn't break it it..and if i didn't i'm really horrified that i peed myself like that..thank god i was at home!!!!!!

When mine broke it was a small trickle. But continued to seep out. Contractions started about 2 hours later.

My water continued to leak after the initial break. I never had any contractions until many hours later when I was hooked up to Pitocin. I made little to no progress (1-2 cm 29 hrs after my water broke) after my water breaking, cervadil and the highest dose of Piticoin, so it is possible that your water broke and you're not progressing. I would have it checked if you're on the fence. Are you leaking?

CRASHING:

With my DS, it was trickles that didn't stop.
Then a bit of a smaller gush.
I called Dr.
They had me go to hospital to confirm and because my beta strep was positive, they told me to come in case I needed to get the antibiotics.

Sure enough it was my water and I was hooked right up to IVs.

I read your post last night too and I think you should get checked. You never know.
It sounded like what happened to me.

I didn't feel contractions.

not leaking, no trickling..no contractions. Its just so weird what happened..if it didn't drip to the floor, i wouldn't be so confused..I have lost my bladder many times during this pregnancy, but not like that! That's why i'm asking these questions.

crashing here...

When my water broke it was like Niagara Falls. I couldn't get up from the toilet there was so much coming out. It continued leaking/gushing for the next 30 hours of labor until my c-section. I remember saying to the OR nurse "sorry my water is getting all over the table" she got a good chuckle from that considering what was about to happen.

I started getting mild contractions that were 7-8 minutes apart on the way to the hospital - about 1.5 hours after my water first broke.

mine broke after contractions started. i was sitting in the hospital bed just after dr examined me and offered to break my water. i said give it a bit (I wanted things to go naturally). he left, door shut, water broke. it didn't feel like a big gush. it just felt like i wet my pants. Well, i wasn't wearing pants...I told the nurse, she said i probably leaked pee. but they did the test with the strips, and sure enough it was my water. contractions got very intense about an hour or 2 later.

When my water broke it felt like a balloon popped in my stomach and the gush came. I was already in the hosipital, and DS was out within the next hour. I don't remember seeing a lot of water, but I was kind of out of it at that point.

My water broke and it was a huge gush.... No trickling here contractions started within 5 minutes of it breaking.

When my water broke it was a huge puddle and I leaked for over 12 hours. I started having contractions about 2 hours after my water broke.,

Crashing...It gushed...and gushed...and gushed...until my epi kicked in and I didnt feel the gush any longer. I thought it would never stop.

Contractions never started on their own. I needed pitocin for that.

I was having contractions for a couple days prior to my water breaking. I was laying in bed when it happened, I tried to turn over and felt what I thought was discharge but it kept happening, so I went to the bathroom and it was trickling out. I never had a gush. Contractions got worse about 6 hours later, gave birth 10 hours after water breaking.

Mine woke me from a deep sleep. I thought DS kicked me really hard but it was the popping of my water. I jumped out of bed and thought I had to pee. As soon as I stood up it gushed out...like the movies. It continued to trickle after that. I was havign zero contractions and right after it broke I had a bad contraction that I thought was just me needing to go to the bathroom. I called my Dr at 1am and told him "I either peed myself or my water broke" he laughed and said meet me at the hospital. It leaked all the way to the hospital and while I was there.
