newborn shoot
How far in advance did you book your newborn shoot?
How do you go about the timing? Just a couple of days after the due date? Does the photographer work things out if the baby is born early?
And finally- any recommendations?

Most photographers just ask you what your due date is, you don't book an actual date for the shoot. Then, you get in touch with them when you have the baby, and they schedule the shoot for about a week later.

Usually, the photographer holds your due date and you call him or her when the baby is born to schedule the actual shoot. They know that sometimes babies are born early, some are born late, etc- its just the nature of the business!

Not at all, I was shopping around at 16 weeks and the particular photographer I wanted wouldn't take me bc she had scheuled quite a few the month I delivered

Do yourself a favor and book either Elizabeth Kristin Photography (or if she's on maternity leave Aug/Sept), book Gina Marie PHotography. You will not be diasppointed, they are both extremely talented and not as expensive as other photographers.

I booked with AJ Nick Photography, very reasonable and I just love her pics! I have a whole list of photographers that I liked and I drove myself nuts about it for probably 2 weeks lol.....I booked around 12 weeks (I think?) b/c once I started researching I didn't want to stall w/ my decision and lose out if the person I liked wasn't available!

I booked around 16 weeks as well and did about 2 weeks of research into a bunch of photogs. I booked with Christine Melissa... Shes A-ma-zing! Lol I cant wait for my shoot... She does incredible work and for a photographer of her quality with her experience and expertise I felt she was a good price...
