How many times do you see your dr?
So I think my dr is billing me incorrectly since I have to pay $15 every time i see her. I called my insurance company and they said its because shes billing them for hypothyroidism (i had thyroid cancer and my levels need to be checked every month). My levels are checked every month by my endocrinologist, i go to a quest diagnostic, they take my blood send her the results she calls me then faxes the info to my OB.
So I'm wondering do you see your dr every month? I'm 20 weeks and I'm wondering if she tells me to come in every month to check my thyroid levels (which she doesnt need to because my endocrinologist does that and she misdiagnosed me once telling me my levels were fine when my endocrinologist later called me and had me change my medication level)
I'm a little annoyed about the billing and I do like her as a dr but it seems I have to pay $30 every time I go and see her ($15 for the thyroid and $15 for sonograms)
I'm thinking about changing drs and I found the one dr that I wanted to deliver is taking my insurance again... what would you do and how many times do you see your dr?

I saw my doctor every month until 28 weeks. Now I see her every 2 weeks. Once I hit 36 weeks, I'll see her every week.
They like to see you so often to check your blood pressure, protein in your urine, weight and make sure you are growing properly. Although - I do not have to pay a copay every time. Just the first visit ever.

I saw my doctor every month until 28 weeks. Now I see her every 2 weeks. Once I hit 36 weeks, I'll see her every week.
They like to see you so often to check your blood pressure, protein in your urine, weight and make sure you are growing properly. Although - I do not have to pay a copay every time. Just the first visit ever.

An appointment every month is pretty standard. I started seeing her every week at I think 36 weeks.

If you don't like your doctor, i'd switch. Otherwise, you could just tell her to stop doing those tests since your endocrinologist is doing them anyhow.

I'm just a little frustrated and DH doesnt want me to change drs.

Do you have the Explanation of Benefits letter you received from your insurance? It should say exactly what you were billed for. You could bring that into your next appointment and refuse to pay the co-pays

Every 4 weeks until 28 weeks then every 2 weeks until 32-34 weeks and then every week after that.
i would definitly just mention it to them to bill it as a maternity visit.

Same # of visits here. The copay probably depends on the kind of insurance you have. I only have a copay for sonos.
