Yes I paid 1800 dollars and my insurance company gave him about 7,000! Thought that was a nice gift!

Considering my OB hardly knows me even though I see her 2x a month - I don't think she'll even notice if I don't get her a gift.

They should be giving me a gift for waiting so damn long in the waiting room.
It's a job they get paid for. If you really LOVE your OB and they are particularly nice or the office is nice, you can bring cookies or something, but I don't think a gift is necessary.

Bahahahahah!!!! I looove my two OBs - they are simply wonderful. Having said that, they get WAYYY too much money from me and my insurance company to be needing a gift, too!!!!

I would like to bc I LOVE him!! But, considering he wont be delivering her unless she comes a week early (bc the week she is due he is on vacation for 2 weeks) I doubt I will. I will def send him a card and pic. He puts them in his offices.

No, didn't even dawn on me to give her one and I like her!
I did send her a birth announcement and I love seeing it in her office!
I had a rough delivery and the nurses were so amazing, so we had edible arrangements fruit sent to the L&D floor while I was in recovery.

Not just my OB but his entire office is amazing so I would like to send something for everyone. Haven't figured out what yet but I definitely want to do something.

i just want to add, i will probobly send an announcement. im probobly being cheap, but we are strapped for cash as it is, any left over money we have will be going towards diapers and other kid related things.

I thought about it. I liked my dr a lot. and When I realized how high risk I was and how he saved my baby's life, I really loved him. The office staff was so great it spoiled me and I get so annoyed at all other doctor offices because no one else compares. But in the end I didn't get a gift. I know he doesn't remember me. I remember him asking me only days later in the hospital, girl or boy? lol I might bring the office staff some snacks when I get pregnant with # 2

I did - he was amazing, got me through the preeclampsia & early delivery.....
Got Mrs Fields cookies with a bear in scrubs.

I love love love my OBGYN but I just send him a holiday card at Christmas and if I happen to stop somewhere before going for an appt I'll bring him and my nurse something (coffee, donuts, etc) but I don't get him an extra present.

I wanted to but never got around to it. I may send something this week since this post reminded me. My ob and his office were nothing short of amazing. He runs a one man show and i have never seen a practice run so efficiently.

NO WAY!!!! They get paid way too much! We sent an annoucement to the office..BUT...have DH get cookies, or donuts or something for the nurses once you have your LO and they will treat you even better
