Huntington Hospital classes
Anyone else delivering at Huntington Hospital?
Would love to know if any of you LIF ladies are also taking any of the classes. I plan on going to the breastfeeding one this Saturday (and I signed up for the tour afterwards).
DH and I were also going to go to some of the Wed evening classes.
Those that have delivered there before, did you find the classes helpful at all? Figured since they were free, I had nothing but time to lose.

DH and I went two years ago. We went to the first class which was "the movie", and then two more...don't remember what they were called. .. I think one was called infant care. I thought they were helpful. The movie has been updated and was kind of interesting. The infant care class was crowded (apparently it's the most popular) but I learned a few things. How much you get out of it depends on how much experience you have overall. I didn't BF so I obviously didn't take that class.
Overall I think they were helpful and I'm glad I went. I felt the same way...I had nothing to lose and everything to gain. Good luck!

I am delivering at Huntington and we only the did tour and actually took the CPR class last night. I am so glad we took CPR, it makes me feel so much better knowing we are prepared if something should ever go wrong. We didnt take any of their other classes because we took a 7 week Bradley method class.

I'm delivering at Huntington as well. I have yet to sign up for any of the classes but I think I have some time (i'm 24 weeks). The calendar my ob gave me is outdated; is there a website I can go to or do I have to call? Thanks!!!

i delivered at Huntington and took the labor and delivery, infant care and the CPR class. I highly recommend them. DH had never really been around babies and was so nervous and after the classes he felt like he knew what to expect. while a lot of the information is 'common knowledge' i still found it very helpful.

Here's the updated class schedule. I think you can just show up for any of them EXCEPT the CPR one and the tours:

You can take the CPR class before birth? Good to know! I was under the impression we had to wait until after delivery to sign up...
