How often does BRU do the trade-in?

How often does BRU do the trade-in?
My cousin offered us a used toddler carseat but I don't plan to use it for safety reasons since it is older. If BRU has a trade-in, I would take it for that. If we don't take it, she is tossing it.

I think it's 2x a year. February and August, maybe? I'd definitely keep it and do that. Our old infant car seat expires soon so I might do that too.

Car seats usually expire in 5 or 6 years. The date of manufacture and the expiration date should be stamped into the plastic on the underside (it's sometimes hard to read, but it's gotta be there). You can also call the company with the number from the seat and ask them about it.
You should never buy a used car seat because you don't know if it's been in an accident and the integrity of the seat could be compromised. If you receive a car seat from a close friend or family member who can vouch for its integrity, just check the expiration date on the seat.

The infant car seat from DS expires when DC#2 will be ~2mos old. I plan on trading it in before he/she comes.
DS' car seat says
Manufactured "Dec 25, 2006"
Expires "Dec 25, 2012"
**NOTE** The expiration date is based off of the manufactured date, not the date you bought it.
