i gained more than that in less time so i'm gonna say it's not too much

i'm trying to eat more fruit & veggies rather than junk food now so i'm not gaining the weight as quickly anymore.

I don't think that's too much, I'm probably about the same, but I haven't stepped on a scale since our last OB visit. My next one (16 week) is Tuesday the 8th so we'll see how much I've gained by then! I think at our 12 week I was up by 5 pounds?

Re: 10 pounds in 17 weeks

I'm up 8 lbs in 16 w this time. Last time, I was up 6 lbs at 16 w. I gained exactly 33 the entire pregnancy and lost all but the last 10 within two months of birth. The last ten stayed on then I got pg again lol.

It's totally fine. Everyone gains differently. My SIL gained 85 lbs with her first -- yes EIGHTY FIVE. And she lost it all within the first year PP. It's just the way her body (and the double stuff oreo cookies) dealt with being pregnant.

Re: 10 pounds in 17 weeks

sounds good to me. plus you were super fit when you got your bfp things will add up different compared to others. im 24weeks and up 5lbs since getting my bfp. dont ask me how since you see how big my boobs are.

when someone ask about weight i always post this. hth

Let's say your baby weighs in at 7 or 8 pounds at birth. That accounts for some of your pregnancy weight gain. But you certainly will gain more that 8 pounds during your pregnancy. Where does the rest of the weight go? Here's a sample breakdown:

Baby 7 to 8 pounds
Larger breasts: 1 to 3 pounds
Larger uterus: 2 pounds
Placenta 1 1/2 pounds
Amniotic fluid: 2 pounds
Increased blood volume: 3 to 4 pounds
Increased fluid volume: 3 to 4 pounds
Fat stores: 6 to 8 pounds
