Drivers License/SSS name change help

Ok-my drivers license is expiring next month-i want to change my last name to my husbands name finally. Do i have to change the drivers license first or the Social security?

THEN once I change my social i have to change my payroll info at work. I assume I'd have to change my name on the bank accounts for my direct deposit? If I change the name immediately but payroll isn't changed right away (due to processing times) I wonder if any pay will not get deposited because the names don't match on the accounts or does that not matter?

First I did the SS office (took me all of 20 minutes)

Then I went to the DMV and changed my name there.

Then I went to the bank and change my name as well. I'm not sure if the DD will be an issue, because the account # isn't changing. But I'm not sure.. See if they can issue you a check for that pay period while the change is being made.

You can do either first...you just have to make sure you have your marriage licence.

i would suggest doing your SS first because it will take the least amount of time. I was in and out of that office (first thing in the morning) in less than 15 minutes. I also went to the DMV first thing in the morning and I was out of there in 20 minutes.

I would not change your payroll or your bank account until you actually have you new id back with your new name to avoid confusion

I I'd my license last bc you need a certain amount of points for identification.
