Exercising still

Hey is anyone else still exercising? I am a little over 12 weeks and I am still running, spinning etc.... My dr told me it was fine to do what I was doing prior just to not overdo it. My running has def slowed down a lot and I am not nearly logging the miles I was but I am still running. Also my HR monitor never works properly so I basicially know my body and if i can run and hold a conversation then i am not too worried. I was so sick from week 6-10 the only think that made me feel slightly better was working out although i still have no idea how i managed to force myself to eve move Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Exercising still

Before pregnancy I was jogging and using the eliptical regularly, but since becoming pregnant the most I'll do is walk on the treadmill. I felt so sick and exhausted during my first trimester that I wasn't even able to get myself to do that most days, but now that I"m feeling better I figure I should at least try to get into a routine of walking. I know it's probably safe to do more, like jogging, but I'm afraid to overdo it.

Re: Exercising still

I jog with my dog in the mornings and walk a lot every day (work in the city) but I have noticed my stamina lessening over the last few weeks. I'm 18w3d now but want to try to stay active for as long as I can.

Re: Exercising still

Hi! Congratulations!

Im still running, a lot slower and a lot less mileage but Im still doing it. Although, this weekend i ran 3 miles and I had very bad round ligament pain so I started walking and alternating some running in there and it helped relieve that pain.

Re: Exercising still

I am still exercising, but both my mileage and intensity are down. I aim for 4 miles 4 times a week. I know every dr is different, but mine said not to let my HR go above 140 for more than 15 minutes, so I have been running 10 minutes, walking 5 and just alternating like that. Sometimes I have some pressure/pain so on those days I just walk.

Rose I had no idea you are preggo! Congrats sweetie!!!!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I'm almost 22 weeks and my exercise has definitely slowed down. The elliptical hurts my lower back so I stick to just walking, free weights and prenatal yoga. If you can do it, keep it up for as long as you can!

Re: Exercising still

I was still doing a combination of light jogging and walking for at least 45 minutes well into my second trimester. I constantly felt like I had to pee though because the baby seems to be right on my bladder. I tried jogging again last weekend (26.5 weeks), but stopped after about 10 minutes. I started having some pains below my belly button. I ended up walking for 45 minutes after that. I have friends who jogged until about 30 weeks.

Re: Exercising still

I'm only a little over 5 weeks, but am planning to continue running. I have a bunch of NYRR races coming up, so will probably just do them at a slower pace. I'll be wearing a heart monitor, but I've also heard that as long as you can carry on a normal conversation, you're not overdoing it.
