Sorta pregnancy related- would this upset you?

We rent a 2bd room apartment in a private house. We have the top apartment and an elderly lady rents the bottom apartment who happens to be the landlords mother...

so...Im due this Friday. My parents have been coming up for the last two weekends from the city (they stay the weekend with me and DH) and then leave. So, today they come again and my neighbor says to my dad, "Oh, are you moving in?" WTH?! Im I wrong to be upset at this? I mean, did she see a Uhaul truck? Their daughter is pregnant and they are here to be with me thats all, doesnt mean they are moving in. My parents plan to stay here maybe 1-2 weeks to be with me while the baby is born since DH works crazy hours and I feel the help would be nice. Im I wrong to be upset at this? Does she have the right to say that?

I can see how that would bother you. It would bother me more if it weren't the landlord's mother. It was a thoughtless question, I mean, come on, let's put 2 and 2 together here, it's probably pretty obvious you are having a baby soon. I wouldn't let it get to me that much but I can see why it did Chat Icon

It is the landlord's mother. She rents the bottom apartment from him.

I wouldn't be upset over that. She may have been joking or just looking for something to say to him because she has seen him the past few weekends.

Don't let it bother you...you have bigger things to worry about, like having a baby!!

I'd be annoyed. She must know you're about to have a baby. She sounds like one of those people who wants someone to point out the obvious so she's more free to talk about it. Nosy Neighbor.

she may just be curious.....I think if it were more concern the landlord would have called you.

I agree...hopefully she was just being neighborly & trying to make conversation/introduce herself since she's been seeing a lot of them lately Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
