WE have lived in Holbrook for over 9 years and just recently went there and we are HOOKED!!!
They have the BEST grandma pie ever at Joes
And their meals are great too!

it is disgusting that they would do that to a couple, but like most have said, i can't say that I'm surprised. they are money hungry and from what i've heard, they treat their employees like crap.
after all this bad press, we'll see if they change their ways.

Don't even get me started on this place. They still owe me close to 500 bucks for my wedding that THEY broke the contract on and left me scrambling for another hall. I am not suprised one bit. I know 500 isn't a whole lot for them, but for me and DH, especially while planning our wedding, it was

This is one of my favorite restaurants. We have all our parties there and they have all been outstanding. I will say though I have heard they are "hard" to work for and are definately not the hand holding type when planning an event.
I would love to see what the wedding contract said. From what I gathered, VL offered them to have the wedding party at a different date and the couple declined. While I feel for the couple and I would be totally bummed if it was me, I don't think any reception hall would be fully responsible for refunding the entire cost due to a hurricane.
Personally I would have done a party on my one year anniversary if people had to travel or just take half the money back.
I understand what you are saying here and trust me, I loved them too up until they broke my wedding contract and showed NO sympathy. I had to fight them for 3500 of my 4k after they were the ones that broke the contract with us. When we went down there to speak with them about getting back the remainder of our deposit they refused to even speak with us and had their "security" escort us out because they didn't want others hearing us complain. Keep in mind...we never once made a scene, we only went there to speak with them in person after they refused to return our phone calls. I advise anyone I know NOT to do business with them. I have never met a bigger bunch of arrogant a-holes and that's putting it lightly.
Regardless of what their contract states, it doesn't matter if they are in the wrong or right, this is how Lombardi's treats their customers.

Not surprised at all. These people treat others terribly. I work in the wedding industry and several of my brides have had very significant, unacceptable issues and nothing but problems with them. I also have friends that worked for a valet company years ago and this was the only venue that didn't provide a meal for them, allow them to use the restroom, etc.

Haha YEP! Can you believe that? We never saw the remainder of the down payment and they told us it was their "fee" for their accounting inconvenience  Nevermind how that 500 bucks could have paid for my gas while I travelled LI looking for a new venue because they suck. At this point, it's a wash for us but I obviously still hold a grudge

We got married at Villa Lombardi's and they treated us wonderful, in particular, our BM Albina. They gave us the wedding of our dreams! Although, after reading all of this feedback, I was almost embarassed to say this! 
THAT being said, these issues that everyone is saying they had to deal with are horrific AND I did hear that they treat their employees horrible! (But then again, a lot of restaurants treat their staff pretty bad. Not making up excuses, just saying!)

When I was pregnant with my DD I needed a slice of crispino and a small salad at least once a week. They used to joke about my pregnancy craving! CRISPINO slice is AMAZING! And the old fashioned slice Mmmmmmm!
