I had my wedding reception at Villa Lombardi's and am shocked at their actions towards a wedding that THEY cancelled
Villa Lombardi refusing to give money back to a bride and groom after wedding was cancelled due to Hurricane

They should be ashamed of themselves for doing this.
Plus, after being called out on 7 on your side your BEST offer is to "split" the difference 
I hope this sways a lot more poeple from booking here.

This happened to friends of mine but at Russo's. Same thing, cancelled due to hurricane. The couple went on their honeymoon as planned & had a great attitude considering most would be devastated.
RUSSO'S went above & beyond! They had their wedding rescheduled 2 months later and had a zillion extra's thrown in at no charge.

Precisely the reason I stand by my decision of cancelling my wedding originally planned at one of their locations, and rebooked at a new, much friendlier venue.

i have to say, this isn't the first hall that i have seen do this in regards to the hurricane. i forgot which other one i had seen on the news right after Irene hit.
Its just a shame that these places would do this to people who have worked so hard to have a wedding and pay for it. You have enough stress as it is and just to add to it is wrong.

That stinks. Nothing surprises me anymore.
My original hall sold our date out from under us even though they had our deposit.
SOO glad I changed halls, dates, everything. it was not VL or associated with them, but people will do anything

I got married there (VL). Everything was top notch. Service was impeccable. I knew the kind of employers they were, that they go through people like some change their underware. Didnt bother me at all. Im sure it wont halt their business going forward.

I would have to see their contract. My guess is there is a clause int he contract about natural disasters and what the remedy is. And I'm sure it was nto a refund. It was probably a reschuleded date.....which they ended up doing in the end (backyard BBQ) since I'm sure they did not have a backyard BBQ during the hurricaine.

Not a fan of Lombardies at all. I won't even get a slice of pizza from Mama lombardis. We have been overcharged on numerous occasions, and we were not offered a refund.

The wedding was the day after the hurricane. That is the date that VL cancelled. They had the backyard BBQ on the same day the wedding was supposed to be held.

My family boycotted them in the late 80's. We live in Holbrook and are surrounded by their establishments. This is disgusting..I feel horrible for the couple

I despise Lombardi's on the Bay. I was there 2 weekends ago for a bachelorette party dinner, the service was a nightmare, our waiter was rude, and none of us made it out after dinner b/c all 9 of us were throwing up/sick out the other end. I called the following morning and the manager was so nasty -- he said, "are you sure it wasn't from the alcohol".

i wasn't crazy about them before- i honestly didn't think their food was all that good thats why we stopped going there. tired it a few times after that thinking maybe it was an off night and same thing- the food is OK not great just ok.
now i won't even step food in that place, i am completely disgusted with them
this hurt them bad as it should have! shame on them

agreed.
i had a downright bizarre experience with the catering manager at lombardi's on the sound. i went in there saying i wanted a saturday night september wedding and she was trying to talk me into either a friday night or sunday afternoon/night wedding. mind you the dates i wanted were OPEN. she pretty much said i wouldn't be able to afford them.
i still laugh to this day because where i wound up having our reception cost more than them.

I am not sure why anybody would say they are not known to treat people well. My family has used them for so many events as well as many friends and the service is always top notch and they are always wonderful. I recommend them to everybody.
