Update!!!!!Ped Neurologists
Update: thanks for all the recs. I saw Dr Rosenn in Plainview. The reason we were going was that my Ped was concerned my DS had early fusing of the plates in his head. This freaked me out and I spent the last few days thinking the worst as the only remedy for this is surgery. We had our appt this morning and Dr Rosenn says it is just a flat spot because of the way he lays. I have never been so happy to hear the worst that will happen is he might need a helmet!!!! We will just monitor his head over the next few months and then go from there.
Anyone use any of the following????
Dr Atlura
Dr Kharode
Dr Trepel
Dr Rami Grossman
DS is 3 months and has to see a neurologist....

I havent heard of any of those...but the neuro in Good Sams pediatric speciality building is very good. Dr. Dutchelier.

Dr andriola at stonybrook is excellent, and Gail Schuman at stonybrook is PHENOMINAL!!

We use the pediatric neurologist at LIJ... Have been going there since DS was 3 months old.. He has a genetic disorder and they have been great with explaining things to us, etc... If you need to talk, fm me... Hope everything is okay! It's scary when our kids need specialists at such a young age... (my DS has neurofibromatosis type 1)

I saw Dr. Kharode for my DS about 4 yrs ago. I did not like her bedside manner, her evaluation, or her "diagnostic" procedure at all. Among other things, she ended up being completely wrong about my DS. FM me for details.
I have heard good things about her partner, Dr. Atluru though. In fact, I would have gone to her except that when I called years ago, she was booked about 2 months out. Dr. Kharode, however, was available the following week. That alone should have told me something.

I took my daughter to see Dr. Atluru when she was about 3. She is a great doctor. I was very happy with her. Please feel free to PM if you have any specific questions. She is a tough woman, but was very kind and caring with my daughter. She does have a pretty long wait, but it was worth it.

I'm actually going today to see Jill Miller-Horn part of Stonybrook also! I have heard great things about them!! Poor DD has vertigo last week out of no where so we have a follow up

LOVED HER!!! My ister and I both saw her for many many years. She saw me into adulthood since I started with her young, and only stopped b/c I moved! She is great!!

dr. atlaru is very nice and spends a lot of time talking to you and listening to you.
dr. grossman is...well let me just say stay far far away from him and his practice. awful awful awful!

We also saw Dr. Atluru. I cannot say enough nice things about her. She had a great bedside manner, took so much time with us, and definitely eased my fears. We saw her when my son was 3 or 4 months old and then again at his 1yr follow up.

Same here! His bedside manner is TERRIBLE!!! The office is dingy and bleek and all he is missing is a friggin' drive thru! I started taking DS to him and and after meeting with the doc twice I couldn't take him anymore.
