Re: FREAKED OUT
OMG thank goodness you are OK and the baby is OK.
My advice to you is to drive ASAP, otherwise you may never get on the road again!

Re: FREAKED OUT
thank goodness you and baby are ok! from my experience it takes time in order to stop being freaked out from an accident. I got into an accident at 17 and totaled my car and was scared to drive for a while. You are okay after a while though as you drive more, and become more confident. Hope you heal and feel better soon.

Re: FREAKED OUT
I'm so glad that you're ok!
Unfortunately I've been involved in a few accidents over the past 15 years (as both a driver & a passenger) & like many pp's mentioned it's true. I've found that I'm always anxious for a while afterwards, but the more I'd go out & drive, the more confident I'd get again & in a few weeks I'd be almost back to normal again. I'd definitely recommend getting right back on the horse before your fear overcomes you

I'm so glad you and baby are okay. How frightening. I understand why you feel traumatized. Thank g-d, I've only been in minor accidents, but even those left me shaky and nervous. Just take it one step at a time...short drives with DH beside you, short drives on your own. Eventually, you will start to feel more comfortable again.

Re: FREAKED OUT
What a scary thing! I am so sorry! Please let us know how the followup with your OB goes!
I do have to aggree with what a previous poster said. It does make you a better driver in the future. There will always be certain things that you are more aware of and look out for when you drive after being in an accident. It is so hard to live on Long Island --- we have to drive to get around. I wish you the best and keep us updated!

Re: FREAKED OUT
Omg soooo sorry you had to go through that.. I too was in an accident last weekend. Mine was a 5 car accident with a rogue drunk driver. I was 39 weeks, passenger and my ds was in the back seat. I was alot better off though. We were in dh truck and were only bumped because were the the end of a chain. None the less an accident is scary and I still dont like driving. I'm more pissed off at the drunk driver than anything. Completely normal to be freaked out. It will get better. Thank god that you and the baby are ok, that is most important.

Car accidents are scary- I have been in a few and they are petrifying, especially your first.
In the beginning you will have a difficult time being in the car as a passenger, and especially as the driver. But after a while, you will become more accustomed.
