Registry Help- TOYS

DH and I only want to register for what we will be needing for the first 8 months.

So what toys (activity play mats, rattles, stuffed animals, stroller toys, car seat toys, bath toys, developmental toys, etc) are important or recommended for the first 8 months?

DD loved her Lamaze Space Symphony playmat. It has a button that plays music and the bars over the mat sway. It kept her occupied for 20 minutes at a time, even at 1 or 2 months old, and gave me much-needed breaks from holding her!

We started using the Exersaucer and the Jumperoo before she hit 6 months, and again, it's so nice to have places to put her down so she can play on her own. We have this Exersaucer and it's super popular but I don't recommend it. Too many flashing lights / buttons that play music, and not enough stuff for her to actually play with. I'd go with a more low-tech version. That's why we got the Jumperoo too. We chose the Rainforest one.

As for actual toys... get some things to hang from your car seat handle. They'll keep your LO occupied when she's in the Snap n Go being wheeled around. My DD LOVES the Lamaze ones with the big eyes. We have THIS hanging from the side of her crib and it keeps her occupied for a while when she wakes up early in the morning, so it buys us some sleep.

At 5.5 months DD is just starting to actually play with toys, and it really seems like the simpler, the better. She goes for classics like blocks and the ever-popular stacker . Stuff like that. We bought her a lot of stuff with flashing lights, music, etc. and it's all wasted on her now.

I don't know what's most recommended, but I didn't do a ton of toys on my registry. We registered for an excersaucer, a playmat, the FP rainforest waterfall crib soother, skip hop stackable bath toys (you probably don't even need these by that age but they're also good for rinsing the baby). I did one rattle and a set of links which a friend recommended for clipping toys to the stroller, car seat, etc.

I figure people will probably buy little toys like rattles and teethers anyway. I was just buying a little stuffed toy off a friend's registry and it took me forever to find the one on the registry! It's easy and fun for guests to pick things out on their own if your comfortable with that.

Not sure what is reccomended but you will want differnt toys for lo to play with once they start to sit up. You will want an actiivity mat (one that is colorful and has overhead toys for baby to grab). My dd loved her jumperoo she used it from 5-10 months. You will want teether toys and some soft toys for lo to play with once they start sitting.

Activity play mat with the arches above to hang toys from.

Jumperoo!!!! DS absolutely adored the Fisher Price jungle themed one, but there are lots of them.

Colorful rattles/rings.

Bumbo or similar to sit them up and have them play with stuff on the tray.

Re: Registry Help- TOYS

My best friend highly recommended the Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Fun with Friends Musical Table.
She said her daughter loved it!
