my induction was not ultimately uccessful but i did progress perfectly to 10cm, water broke on its own, etc. baby was stuck and face up and I don't think that had to do with the induction itself.

Me. I was induced at 41wk5d... the induction went really well and had DS vaginally. I did end up with an epidural. A good friend of mine was induced twice and had her DDs without an epidural. So, it's definitely possible.

I was induced at 41 weeks. Given pitocin at 7:30pm, I progressed fairly quickly. I was 1.5 cm when I was induced. DS was born at 3:28 am. I wanted to deliver naturally, and I did. But I am being 100% honest with you, I think I may request an epi when the time comes to have #2. I've heard the pain is worse with pitocin though so I have nothing to compare it to...but I could throw up just thinking about that pain! Good luck!:hug

I was induced at 39 weeks due to high BP. I got the pitocin, they broke my water about 6 hours into laboring, I got the epi as soon as I could, labored for a total of 14 hours and had my DS vaginally.

Overall I had a fantastic induction experience and would do it again in a heartbeat.

I was induced successfully 2 times. With I was induced at almost 41 weeks. That time they used cervadil and then they were going to use pitocin, but the cervadil put me into labor. I had a vaginal delivery 13 hours later. With I was induced at 39 weeks. They first broke my water then gave me pitocin. I had a vaginal delivery 7 hours later.

I was induced at 40w4d with DS and had a successful induction with pitocin, no cervadil, since I had been dilated.

I did get an epi though - it helped me rest fairly comfortably throughout the day but, at the end, DS' head was so low I was in a good amount of pain. They didn't want to increase the epi since I wouldn't be able to push.

I was in labor about 13-14 hrs and pushed for 20 minutes.

My Dr mentioned something about possibly inducing me early this time around if I am dilated as well but, we'll see.

My water broke 6 days before my due date. I wasn't having contractions, so I had no idea that's what was going on....but my doctor told me to go to the hospital to get it checked out.
When I got there, I still wasn't having contractions, but my water had broken, so they had to deliver the baby. I was put on Pitocin shortly after they examined me...which brought on the contractions!!!! They were very strong and very frequent...so I did wind up getting an epidural (even though I really wanted to try to deliver without it...but I couldn't breathe with all of the contractions coming so fast).
After the epi, labor was reeeeeaaaaaalllly easy....and after 7 hours of labor, I delivered my daughter vaginally with no issues in about 2 pushes.

induced both times at 38 weeks first time went straight to pitocin bc i was already at 2 cm so i was given the epi -- took 2 days to reach 10cm and 4 hrs of pushing to deliver

my second i was induced with cerverdil two or three times (LOL i forgot and swore i would never forget) and it didn't work. i had to get a epi bc i got a balloon foley which forces the cervix to open to a certain cm so the pitocin can be started. it took 3 days from start to finish. i delivered him in 3 pushes - 15 minutes

Induced at 38 1/2 weeks due to high BP...given 2 Cervidils....no progress (only up to 1.5cm)......

After few hours, Blood pressure even higher due to the induction (which is the norm when high BP is the issue)...7 hours of labor contractions with no epi and then a c-section since the BP was very high and no progress...

When high BP is the issue, doctors don't want to wait long if there is no progress....they will not allow you to labor for more than 12hours...(7-10hours is usually the norm)

Hope this doesn't happen to you but recovery was a breeze for me and I had a healthy baby at the end, which is all that matters!

I was induced at 40 weeks because of preeclampsia and low fluid. They started me with Cervadil overnight and that did nothing. But the next morning, they gave my cytotek (sp?) and broke my water. About 5 hours later, my son was born without the need for a c-section!

I was induced at 39w due to low fluids. It was a very long process - almost 48 hours, but in the end I delivered vaginally.

I was all about a natural delivery and not getting an Epi, and I hate to sound pessimistic, but I think if you get pitocin (which most women do when induced), there is is very little chance you will not get an Epi. The pain is so strong so fast, and is pretty unbearable. I was more scared of the Epi than the labor, but I felt I was left with no choice but to get it. Go in with an open mind, because once induced, you will most likely want the Epi.

My water broke on its own, but was not progressing at all and was given pitocin and and something for the cervix to get things moving. It got an epi, and it was heaven. Delivered vaginally (vacuum assist) as DD was sunny side up and wouldnt turn. All in all it was a successful, pleasant birth experience. Good luck!

I was induced 6 days shy of DS' due date because of my gestational diabetes. I loved that it happened because I got to come home and get ready and call the whole family and let them know. The cervadil worked like a charm and they had to increase the pitocin a bit more after 8 hours or so but DS was born vaginally in under 12 hours. If I was having a second child, I would want the same exact thing. I did get an epi after they had to break my water because the contractions get SO much worse after that happens. Good luck!

I was induced 2 days before my due date. I was having gall bladder issues. I had 2 rounds of cervadil and after the 2nd round I was 3 cm dialated at about 3 in the morning. At around 9 am they started pitocin when the dr came in. After a while i had my epi and then had ds at 2:30 ish that afternoon.

It was a long process but nothing to miserable besides the beds in labor and delivery weren't meant for sleeping on.

Remember patience is your friend and talk with you dr. If all is ok with the baby and you there should be no reason to be in a rush for a c-section.

induced 36w1d. had epi. had vag. 27.5hrs from when they gave the cervadil.

ill admit the cervadil hurt. that was before the epi.

I had two successful inductions. One at 40 weeks, 2 days and one at 38 weeks, 6 days. I had epidural both times. Doctor broke my water both times. Other than being long processes... 9 or 10 hours... not days... LOL They were both great experiences.

I was induced with my second b/c I was past my due date (by a llittle over a week). I gave birth vaginally and without an epidural. I will say though, just to give fair warning, pitocin without an epidural is TOUGH. I gave birth to my first with no epidural either but, it is a totally different ball game when you are induced. I stuck it out but, honestly, it traumatized me for a good month

I was induced at 36w for pre eclampsia. I got cervadil at night and the next morning i was just over 2cm. I was so bummed. But doc gave me cervadil again and around 11am i was 3 or 4cm. He broke my water and then the contractions started. (i ended up getting an epi) Delivered son at 10:59pm.

I was induced at 39 weeks due to high BP as well. I was given Cervadil at 8pm Monday night to soften my cervix. I started having very mild contractions. At 9am the next morning my OB broke my water. I was only about 3cm dilated. Within minutes I started having very strong, painful contractions. My OB suggested I get the epi at that point because they were going to administer Pitocin at 9:30 and the contractions would get very intense. By 9:20 I had gotten the epi and was feeling great. I took a short nap and by 11:30-11:45, I felt pressure (like I had to go to the bathroom). My OB checked me and I was fully dilated. I only had to push 8 times and DD was born.

I was induced at 41 weeks and delivered vaginally. I went in at 8pm and DD was born the next day at 6:30pm.

I did have an epi - DD was sunnyside up and I had back labor, can't imagine doing it without the epi, it was amazing.

I was induced at 40w3d. Started at 1-2cm and 70% effaced. 11am dr broke water. 12pm pitocin started. 2pm (3cm) went from uncomfortable to worst pain of my life within minutes. Got the epi, was able to relax. By 6pm I was 8cm. Was fully by 7pm. Started to push around 7:30. DS was born at 8:17pm.

I was induced 2X and had an epi both times. I had fast labors. I pushed for 9 minutes with #1 and 6 minutes with #2.

I had cervidil with #1.

Me! I was induced at 38wks with my twins. It took from 8am to 8pm to start pushing. I did get an epi, but it didn't work. That was the easy part for me! DS got stuck (he was sunnyside up) and I had to push for 3hrs. Then, DD flipped breech, so she was delivered via breech extraction.
But, it was a successful induction with twins delivered vaginally

Cervadil induction, vaginal delivery! Had an epi.

Cervadil at 2am, at 6cm by 8am, epi by 10am, started pushing at 5:08pm and delivered DS at 6:24pm.

No regrets and no hesitation to go the same route the next time!

(should add that I was 3 days past my due date with no signs of progress....and rising BP)
