BTDT- Successful Inductions

Crashing from pregnancy to see if any one can share their successful induction stories. It looks like I will be induced at 38 weeks due to high bp and I'd love to hear about women who were induced and still went on to deliver vaginally. I'd especially love to hear about those who were induced and did not get an epi and still went vaginally. Thanks so much!

Me--induced 2 times and delivered vaginally 2 times!
1st pregnancy, my water broke. DD needed a vacuum assist.
2nd-I was induced 3 days before my due date due to DS's size.
I had an epi both times but my inductions were very non-eventful, fairly easy processes!

I was induced twice and had VD with both.

I had an epi though both times. You're my hero if you can do it without one. I know plenty of women who have, my mom included, but I'm not good with pain.

I was induced 9 days before my due date b/c of high bp. I had an epi but delivered vaginally. I had a cervix softening drug (can't for the life of me remember the name) but did not need pitocin.

I was technically induced. My water didn't break but it was leaking and so after they measured the fluid they decided to induce.

16 hours total in labor. Vaginal delivery without complications.

I was induced at 40 weeks due to high bp. It was a very positive experience. I was only in labor for 8 hrs and I delivered vaginally after literally 3 pushes. I only pushed maybe 5 min tops! It was crazy!!! I did get an epi though so I can't add my experience there.

I was induced at 38 weeks due to high bp at my 38 week appointment. I was 2-3 cm dilated and 80% effaced. I was sent straight to the hospital and was given a small dose of pitocin around 9 pm (they increased it over time). I got the epi around 8:30 am but it only numbed my right thigh, so essentially it did not work (they tried to do it twice but apparently I have too much muscle tissue in my spine ). At 10 am, I demanded they check my progress (even though I was only 4 cm an hour prior) because I kept saying I felt like I had to push. To everyone's shock I was fully dilated! 20 minutes of pushing and ds was born

I have a close friend who was induced twice and had a vag delievery twice... it can be done!

i was induced at 38 weeks due to slightly high BP, low amniotic fluid and the baby in distress. doctor broke my water, i got pitocin and baby was pulled out with forceps after an hour of pushing. the whole thing took about 5 hours. i had an epi, but to be honest it didnt do much due to how quickly i progressed and the fact that they turned it all the way down so that i could push.

My water broke and had to get pitocin to move things along. I ended up with a Csection but it had zero to do with being induced and even if I went on my own I would have had a section.

I think you absolutely can still have a vaginal delivery.

GL and try not to stress too much leading up to it!!!

I was induced twice, for different reasons, and had a v delivery both times. I also had an epi both times. That pitocin is a beast!

I was induced with my second DD and the entire process was so smooth. I had no issues at all and she was delivered vaginally. (With an epidural). good luck!!

I was induced both times and delivered vaginally both times. First time I was at 40 weeks, 100%effaced, 3 cm dilated upon induction, and second time I was 38 weeks, 50 %effaced and 1 cm dilated.

I was induced with my first child at 38 weeks. I had cervadil and went into labor with that..I had an epi as it was my first and I was scared that I would not handle the pain..I did deliver vaginally.

I was induced two days before my due date because I was having mild contractions every minute... It was successful, but I was so worried, since I heard most inductions end up with a C. I had an epi - I don't think I could have done it without an epi since the contractions were so much worse then when I went into later naturally with my first. Good luck!

ETA: I only had Pitocin because I was already 3 cm... I was also expecting to be in labor for sooo long, but it was very quick. I'm sure you will be fine

I was 2 weeks late so I was scheduled for a Cervadil Induction. I had a great experience. I went into the hospital at 8pm and received Cervadil. I wound up not needing the Pitocin. My water broke at around 4 am. I started pushing and had DS an hour later with no Epi. DS is my first

I got induced for DC#2 at 39 weeks. I was on the fence about it and was not even sure when I got to the hospital if I wanted to go through with it.

If I remember correctly, I had been 2cm dilated for over a week and was 50% effaced. I knew the baby would come in the next day or two so I went through with it. If I was not as progressed, I would not have gone through with it.

It was SOOOO easy. I liked having everything planned. The labor happened so fast. I'm not sure if that was due to it being the second baby or if it was the induction.

after 2 days of labor i was induced. started pitocin at 6am and steadly increased until i had my son at 7:37 pm. i did have an epi b/c after over 2 days of labor with no sleep i was exhausted and wanted to be strong enough to push!

I was induced and had a vaginal delivery. I was induced 9 days before my due date because of low amniotic fluid. I was 3 cm dilated and got pitocin. I wanted to go without the epidural, but after being in labor for about 12 hours, I was just too exhausted (it was past midnight) and my tolerance for pain was gone. The epi allowed me to sleep 2 or 3 hours before I had to start pushing. However, what every nurse who thought I was crazy for going without the epi told me is true - try not to wait until the pain is unbearable. Getting an epi in the middle of the night in between contractions was pretty awful. Something went wrong, and it had to be done a second time. So (I think) there was over an hour and a half from the time of when I decided to give in, to the time when I actually had an effective epidural.

i was induced at 40 weeks because i wanted to. delivered vaginally with no pain meds.

i walked. ALOT. i drank red raspberry leaf tea. i swam. i basically tried to do everything possible to get my body in shape for laboring. i wasn't afraid of a c-section because i had a good support system and trusted that whatever was meant to happen, would happen. go in there w a positive mind and good luck!

I was induced at 40 weeks 4 days.
I was 3 cm dilated for like 3 weeks prior

My dr. said he would let me wait but I said oh hellls no I am ready.....

I was induced and had an epi and gave birth vaginally to a 9lb 12 oz healthy baby boy. (Thank god I didnt wait any longer he woulda been a 10 lber!)

The process was fine for me.

I will be having DS#2 for March 24th but they are talking about possibly inducing me a lil earlier due to the size of my DS#1....I find out Thurs the size of this guy. I will be 36 weeks at the end of this week

Oh also I liked that it was planned....everything was so nice and calm and I felt organized....I am a organized freak lol
