So I've been sick all week...

and really feeling miserable. Definately some kind of sinus infection or upper respiratory infection. I tried to get in with my primary but they were on vacation for the first few days this week and then they were so overbooked that they wouldn't have been able to see me until today (Friday)

So last night I went to see my OB with hopes that he'd prescribe me antibiotics or something to help give me some relief.

Well, he was so conservative about it. He told me to just keep taking robitussen and using saline mist in my nose and didn't prescribe anything.

I was so disappointed. I was really hoping to be able to start feeling better.

Now to make matters worse...we have a party to go to on Sunday. My sister Denise will be there. She is going through aggressive chemo right now for Breast Cancer. I should not be around her at all if I am sick, which was another reason why I was hoping for antibiotics. And I keep thinking in my head...what if this party is my shower? I am 35 weeks. If I they are going to do something then they should do it soon!

I mentioned to my sisters that I might not go on Sunday if I am not feeling better. They told me to see how I feel then but that I should go...

Argh! I just wish he'd have prescribed me antibiotics! I am sure there is something I can take to help me feel better!

I would insist that they give you an appt at your pcp today. Pneumonia is going around like crazy. Tuesday, my husband text me from work that he felt like crap (he NEVER compains) Made him an appt at 4:30, was diagnosed with Pneumonia Wasn't coughing or anything, and it came on so quickly.

Please be careful. Def. get in. Feel better

Aww hope u feel better. Dh has been coughing too and I'm going to try and make him an appt with the pcp. Hugs....

Can you go to urgent care? I never can get a sick appointment with my pcp. I just go to urgent care instead. I know the urgent care Dr a lot better than my own!

Go to a walk in place. I went a few months back and they gave me antibitocis right away.

I went to a walk in place last weekend because I had a horrible cough/cold lasting over 3 weeks. I think I am due around the same time, and while they said they thought I had bronchitis and an upper respiratory infection, both would go away without an anitbiotic. I think they are conservative with antibiotics in the third tri (and since both ailments do eventually go away without the z pack, i was oK with that decision). They did listen to my chest and said it didn't sound like pneumonia, but again, they said it is very dicey giving a chest xray to a 3rd trimester patient.

Anyway, hang in there! I'm finally starting to feel better after 3.5 weeks. Of course I gave it to DS 1 so I was up every night with him, and not able to sleep.

I have been sick for 2wks already & my pcp couldn't see me so i went to a walk in clinic who gave me antibiotics and told me to take robitussin. The OB approved the antibiotics b/c i called them to make sure it was ok being that I was 28wks.

I have been on the antibiotics for almost 10days now & am just starting to feel better but I am still coughing. Def go to a dr. I hadn't slept in a week b/c of the coughing & stuffy head & its miserable.

Thank you everyone...I did get into see my OBGYN last week, he was the one that made the call to not give me antibiotics. I do respect his decision. Hopefully he knows what is best!

Right now I went to sleep super early last night and this morning felt a tiny bit better ... hopefully I am on the mend now!
