Massage in First tri?
I saw another poster just say that getting a massage in the first trimester is a no-no...is this true? I just got one last weekend and when I said I was preggo (the therapist was certified in prenatal) she completely changed her technique and it seemed fine / safe.
And I also was using zit cream on my face for the last 2 months! Hm...

Re: Massage in First tri?
I got a massage in my first tri. The place did make me sign a waiver and my massage therapist also changed some techniques etc...

Re: Massage in First tri?
My doctor & massage therapist said not to get one until the 2nd trimester...and then my doc gave me a note clearing me for one since I wasn't clearly showing yet. I'd recommend checking with your OB to see what they say

Re: Massage in First tri?
I was not allowed to get one in the 1st Trimester. I guess it's a liability for the massage therapist.

Re: Massage in First tri?
The place I went to would not do a massage for someone in their first trimester.

Re: Massage in First tri?
I saw my chiropractor and in office massage therapist at 6 weeks because my back went out. She did tell me the areas she would not touch deeply and explained what my husband could and couldn't do.

Re: Massage in First tri?
Technically, you CAN get a massage in your 1st trimester.
But this is such a fragile time when M/C is most likely to occur that for liability issues most massage therapists won't do it.
Massage therapy won't create a m/c but if by coincidence one were to m/c, they would think massage was the reason why.
So as a massage therapist, it's just not worth it!
