Baby in the City-Traveling Question

Hi Ladies,

sorry if this is a dumb question but
Was wondering how you ladies have gotten around in the city with a baby?

DD is only 6 months (even though its redic cold out) I would like to start taking her into city at somepoint...

Taking a cab with a baby- and not having a car seat? I'd have a stroller with me (of course) but not a car seat-how does that work?

Has it been a hastle for you with the subways? I know a lot of stations dont have elevators and its difficult...

any thoughts/suggestions/feedback would be really appreciated!

I haven't done it yet, but I would think that if you were wearing a baby bjorn (or whatever carrier you have), and you just bring a lightweight, easy fold stroller you would be ok. And you'll be with someone else, right?

We used to live in manhattan. No need to bring a car seat. Just take a lightweight stroller with you, preferably one that is easy to fold.

and yes you can cab/bus it without a car seat

good to know i dont need a car seat...i guess cabbing it is better, was worried about trecking through the subways-baby bijorn is a great idea-didnt even think about that!
