My Dr is the SAME way..average wait is 45 mins...but I know it's because she doesn't rush patients and that's why I love her.

Re: why do dr bother with an appointment book

Yeah, it's pretty annoying. They give patients a 15 min time slot & when a patient is late or Dr is running late.. we wait & wait.
Longest I've ever had to wait was 1 hour & I was pissed. I can understand running 15- 30 min but 60 is unacceptable.

my last visit was scheduled for 9am. The doctor didn't see me until 10:50. I had TEARS of frustration...and hunger. Didn't even have breakfast Chat Icon

Re: why do dr bother with an appointment book

I try to schedule my appts as early as usual to avoid waits but, I was annoyed for my glucose test - I showed up 5-10 minutes early for my appt but, the person with the appt 15 minutes after mine, showed up 5-10 minutes before me and they took her first!!! So frustrating!!!

ETA - This is my second pregnancy with this practice and I was always in and out really quick during my last pregnancy and I'm finding myself waiting longer this time around.

omg I waited for half an hour in the waiting room before asking at the front desk when I could begin my glucose test. Her response "Oh, you can just grab that whenever you're ready"

WHAT?! Shouldn't you have told me when I got there??? How the hell was i supposed to know I could "help myself" when i don't even know where they keep the damn things.

I've had a good experience except these last two visits. Chat Icon

wow.... i thought crap like that only happened to me Chat Icon and being pregnant, ive realized i really have no filter on my mouth anymore... Ive shocked quite a few people recently and I dont give a damn Chat Icon .. last time at my docs office, they once again asked me for my due date and then look in my chart "oh that isnt what i have here"... so i went off on them telling them they have screwed up record keeping... and then she proceeds to take my blood pressure after getting me heated and then says "oh, is it always this high?!?" Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon hmmmf... now why could that be Chat Icon

Re: why do dr bother with an appointment book

1 hour 15 minutes later for the dr to come in and watch the nurse measure my belly, ask me how Im feeling and say ok we will see you in 2 weeks Chat Icon

The nurse was in prior to take bp and listen to the heart beat

Not that I was expecting anything different Im just getting use to a new practice (we moved) and my last dr was the only dr in the practice so he would limit his appointment...plus I did always take an early morning appt but this time around I can't...just fustraiting doesnt help that I havent slept and Im starving

Re: why do dr bother with an appointment book

This is why I left my first OB at 20 weeks. 2 hr waits were the norm. My new Dr I never wait more than 15n mins and he never rushes you.

Re: why do dr bother with an appointment book

I agree, it's very frustrating... the old OB GYN I used to go to, waiting 2 hours was the norm. I switched to an OB closer to my job so I could go during lunch breaks, I waited at least 45 minutes - an hour before going in to the exam room. Needless to say, after I got back I had to break the news to my co-workers as to why I took a huge lunch break!
