What would you think about this person?
You're telling your immediate family that you are having another baby. In the midst of everyone congratulating and hugs and kisses, this person gets a phone call on their cell. It's a call concerning a house they are renovating. Not an emergency. They answer the phone and have a conversation right there.
Rude or no?

Personally I think cell phone use in general is rude. Would I take it personally? No. That's the way our culture is now.

I think I would find it a bit rude... I think that person could have answered the phone asked if it was an emergency and when the person on the line said no she/he should have said well I will have to call you back... OR just not answered at all waited until all the hugs/congrats are done and then made any necessary calls...

I agree. It's unfortunately become common. But still kinda rude!! My manager does this to me ALL of the time when he is talking to me...his personal cell phone rings and he answers it no matter who it is. I never answer my cell if I am in the middle of talking to someone!

No... simply bc I have come to realize that other peoples priorities come before anything having to do with me and my baby... I ve actually been going back n forth with a heating company and at this point, yes, i would def pick up the phone to talk to them... bc sometimes its just so damn hard to get companies to call you back... I wouldnt take it personal
