Really dumb question
So every time I go to my OB she does a sonogram and I get to see my LO. Today she gave me a referral for a 12 week ultra sound. . . . Ok now here's th dumb part . . .what's the difference?

Is it the Nuchal scan? This is a much more in depth ultrasound where they take measurements of certain areas of the baby. In the office your doctor is likely just looking for a heartbeat.

That definitely might be what's scribbled on my referral. Is it worth it for DH to come? He hasn't come with me yet bc I figured it was too early for him to see anything. I said he could come there or to my next OB appointment at 13 weeks

This might be a good one for him to come to. It takes a little longer (not sure how long the ultrasounds in the doctors office are) and the baby really begins to look like a human at that point rather than just a little gummy bear!

Yep, exactly this. I always had sonos done at my OB office but for my 12wk ultrasound I went to a specialist. Its a more in depth ultrasound...

Yea it would be worth it to bring your DH... I brought mine to that one and the 16 week one and hes coming to the 20 week one as well...
The sono is on a big screen as well and you get to see A LOT more... Its pretty kool! And theyll give you lots of pics =)
