Keep buying non-maternity shirts
I feel weird about it..but for the most part they fit me so much better.maybe its cause i'm petite to start with...i don't kow ..plus alot of maternity tops have that empire waist which I DESPISE on my body. Also the fitted maternity tops are too fitted and look awful on me with the big boobs. Any one else have better luck with non-maternity tops? Please tell me i'm not the only one.
I just bought a really cute non-maternity top from H&M...i think i can use it for at least another 2 months, that's why i'm writing this post!

Re: Keep buying non-maternity shirts
It's funny you posted this today. I was wondering before if it was ok that even though I'm in maternity jeans, I still wear my regular tops. I have one maternity shirt that I've worn once, but that's it.

Re: Keep buying non-maternity shirts
I wore mostly regular shirts in a bigger size up until a few weeks ago. They started getting too short on me and not flattering imo. I am tall and have a long torso to begin with tho. And you're right, the maternity shirts i've tried on are on the long side so I can understand petite women having trouble.
I love all my new maternity shirts though! They don't look maternity and I don't think any of mine have an empire waist, only some dresses!

Re: Keep buying non-maternity shirts
I'm a few days past my due date. I only had a couple of maternity tops during this whole preganacy. The pants were a necessity, however with the longer tops being popular this year, I really just went with larger sizes. They were less expensive and I got to choose from a larger selection. The only thing to consider (if you care - and I really didn't), is that the non-maternity tops in larger sizes had big arms, which looked a bit weird. The maternity tops fit my arms better.
Do what you are comfortable in - there's no right or wrong here! Again, if you have a fancy event or something where the size of the sleeves matter, maybe get a top or two for those events....

Re: Keep buying non-maternity shirts
I think at 27wks 5days its finally time for me to say good bye to my non-maternity shirts. Ive been in maternity pants since about 16 wks or so but have been able to keep wearing reg. shirts. Well, not anymore..they are starting to slide up and its quite embarrassing.

Re: Keep buying non-maternity shirts
I do this too, but I am getting to a point that I can't anymore.
Keep in mind, this does stretch out your tops. So don't wear your "favorite" stuff, because it won't fit right when this is all over. I went thru this with my second DC.

Re: Keep buying non-maternity shirts
I have to say that I've enjoyed buying/wearing long sleeved shirts (both waffle knit & regular) in large (&recently XL) from the Juniors section at Kohls!
although at this point, that is the extent of non-maternity tops for me... besides a flowy, open cardigan

Re: Keep buying non-maternity shirts
I did the same thing for both pregnancies. Wear maternity pants with regular non-maternity tops. Anything tunic or empire waist. lol.
