SPINOFF- washing clothes
Do you wash all the clothes as close as possible to your due date or can you use them months before? Im 27wks and was wondering if I can start washing clothes and storing them away or if I start doing it now will I just end up doing it again just before he's born?

Re: SPINOFF- washing clothes
I don't see why not. The only reason I washed them was to get rid of any chemicals/residue/weirdness from all the hands and machinery and God knows what else it had passed through before it got to me. I washed the clothes a few weeks in advance and put them all away till the baby came.

Re: SPINOFF- washing clothes
I'd start washing now. I hate leaving things for the last minute and would be paranoid that I had the baby before I got to the laundry (but thats just me).

Re: SPINOFF- washing clothes
as a BTDT, DON'T wash all the clothes!!!! keep the tags on and wait to see how big the baby is and what you get after he arrives. You may find clothes you received will not fit during the appropriate weather; you want to be able to exchange. i wish i had done that.. wash a week's worth of clothes.. you can always have DH or a family member throw in a load for you while visiting your little one.

Re: SPINOFF- washing clothes
I fully agree with the above poster - as a BTDT mom, I'd advise to NOT wash all the clothes!
What I would wash is 5-10 onesies in newborn and 0-3 month size. Same for footy PJs, wash 5-10 of those. That is what baby will live in 99% of the time at the beginning. Everything else you can wash as you go along and see how big baby is and what you'll need/use the clothes for. Remember that you'll be doing laundry a couple of times a week so it's not much of a hassle to throw in new clothes with the clothes he just wore.
