dumb dr question

so after you decide on your pediatrician, i know you tell the hospital when you deliver, but what do you do about telling the dr? do i call the office and say "i choose you!" ??????

I asked the pediatrician this and she said they'll just call me. I then asked do we have to notify you or fill out any paperwork? She said nope I'll be at the hospital. Seemed strange to me too!

This is exactly right. You'll tell the hospital who your ped is and they'll contact them for you. The ped comes to the hospital and examines the baby. I didn't give them my insurance card or anything until her first office visit. Seemed strange to me too, but it worked!

I called the office before my dd was born and said that I would like to use them as my dd peditrician. They told me just to tell the hospital and they would notify the peditrician of the birth.
