I had a D&C under anesthesia , I wouldn't do it without it. I had it done at the hospital. It wasn't painful or anything, by the time I woke up everything was over and I felt "fine" physically.
Emotional pain stays with you for a long time , maybe forever, but I do think that getting a D&C makes dealing with things tiny bit easier.

I couldn't have said this better -- knowing that everything was over at once was so much easier and less Phyically painful than waiting for a natural miscarriage. I have had 2 d&c's both in the hopsital -- I wasn't in pain afterwards -- just emotionally.

I am so sorry.
I was under anesthesia for my d&c it was over very quickly and pain free. It felt like 5 minutes.Give yourself time to heal emotionally. I'm so very sorry for your loss.

so sorry for your loss. The pain does get easier- and there is light at the end of this. Grieve how you need to, and know we are all here to support you through this..

I am so sorry for your loss. 
Physically, a d&C isn't that bad. You will cram and bleed after for a few days; emotionally, it is harder. Give yourself time to grieve.
