FarmHouse sinks

Was wondering if anyone has one and what the pros/cons are? If you installed one yourself, are you happy that you did?

I love the look.

Re: FarmHouse sinks

We have a stainless one - I absolutely LOVE it.

Pro is size, there are no cons.

If I could do it over I'd do a hammered copper.

I didn't do the porcelain b/c a guy at Home Depot Expo said I'd have no under-sink storage b/c the support they'd have to build to hold the weight of the porcelain would be so large.

I didn't do copper b/c of price and the care needed - I should have just sucked it up - I find the look of the copper to be so much warmer.

No matter which style you get - you can't go wrong and you will LOVE it.

If you leave dirty dishes in the sink and someone stops by - the sink is so deep they won't even see them!

eta: our contractor installed, along with the rest of the kitchen.

^^Thank you for answering and now you made me really want one LOL. I was thinking stainless as well since I am a klutz and stainless would match all of my appliances.

Re: FarmHouse sinks

Go for it - I thought of a con.

Our stainless scratches so when you go shopping - find out which one is the most scratch resistant!!

Don't do copper. Many of them contain toxic materials because they are derived from melted copper pipes. The copper also requires a lot of care to keep it looking good.
