Had my first internal this AM...
well, first for this pregnancy.. and I am in SO much pain, STILL.
My lower back hurts like hell and obviously my lady region feels so sore.
I do not remember the after math of an internal being this horrible last time. And my old doc had fingers like bratwurst.
Anyone else get this?

also, what do they do exactly during an internal? So many ladies say it's painful and it doesn't sound very pleasant but what are they doing exactly and why?
I'm almost 28 weeks so this will come up soon, i'm sure

Ive had internals already and Ive never left in pain... EVER... Im so sorry, that totally sucks!

i had my first ever today...it really wasn't bad!
she stuck her hand in there, to feel the cervix...took a few seconds and she was done...
she did say that my cervix was very accessible, and if it were harder to get to (baby's head is far down and making it hard to maneuver in there) that she'd have to be more aggressive...
so maybe that's why mine wasn't too bad, I have another in 2 weeks...with a diff doctor  so we'll see how i feel after that one, but this one was OK

I am still uncomfortable-- I wonder if she stirred anything up in there!
I have a heating pad on now and DH came home a little early to help with DD so I am feeling better than before... I guess I will call my doc in the am if I am still uncomfortable, but I am actually scheduled for an NST tom afternoon.
