Handicap Pass?
Anyone get their Dr to get them a handicap pass? I commute into the city and parking at my station is impossible. I used to walk from home which is around a mile but thats getting to be a lot these days back & forth in work clothes. I asked my OB and she told me that she cant do it, then I asked my regular Dr and she told me no because I'm not under her care. I wish they had maternity parking at the train stations!! : /

Re: Handicap Pass?
When I first read this post I immediately thought, what is she nuts. But then I see that you commute int NYC and as a fellow commuter and station parker I deeply sympathize with you. It takes such a toll on your body. Unless you do it, I don't think you know.
I am sooooo sorry I hope you can find a solution to this.

Re: Handicap Pass?
Thanks! I felt sort of silly/lazy/wimpy asking my Dr about it, but by the time I get off the train at night I usually have to P so bad that I'm running to get home! haha I told my Drs that I wouldnt use it anywhere else but the train, and I seriously wouldnt! But like you said, day in day out the commute takes a toll! I'm going to have to start going in super early in order to get a parking spot at the station which sucks because that makes for an even longer day! : ( I guess I was just surprised that both Drs told me no...

Re: Handicap Pass?
I have one but its from a bad accident I had almost 12 years ago. I had to have my right ankle rebuilt with 5 surgeries and I had back surgery 2 years ago also
They are becoming VERY strict with how and why they give them out. When I had to renew mine I had to jump through hoops to get notes, signatutes etc
They should have maternity parking at the train station but I feel like if they did, any yahoo would park in it!
Feel better!!

Re: Handicap Pass?
Being pregnant is NOT a handicap. I highly doubt any doctor would issue for that alone. It stinks, the commute and walking but, you would be talking a spot from someone who actually IS handicap. Jmo

Re: Handicap Pass?
I have thought that they should give temporary handicap stickers to us pregnant ladies, but I don't think it's going to happen.
