Middle Name Help

We are having a boy. DH and I are in between 2 names for the first name. However this is not our issue. DH has given me 90% say on what the middle name will be.

This is where my issue comes in. (Names are not being used because I have friends IRL on here and I am not telling the name.)

I found out I was pregnant the month after I lost my grandfather. When I got my BFP I said that if it was a boy I wanted to incorporate his name in someway. He was my step-dad's father, but has been in my life since I was 5 and I miss him like crazy.

Now, my dad has always said that since him, no one has used his name again. He mostly says it as a joke, but I know if I used his name it would mean the world to him. However, both my brothers have his name as their middle name. (Don't ask, different moms...)

I have siblings that can use his name, but I am the oldest, so I carry that guilt around.

I am sorry this was so long. Thanks for reading!

I vote for using your Grandpa's name. From your post, it seems like this would be more meaningful to YOU, while your dad's name could be used by one of your brothers for their DCs. Plus they'll most likely get your dad's last name, too, no?

Re: Middle Name Help

I think you ladies are right, and my grandfather's name means more right now.

But I am sure some of you know the feeling. I am the oldest. I am my daddy's little girl. With most of my achievements in life, I just want my dad to be proud of me. This will be his first grandson. And my brother's wife announced that she will be getting her tubes tied at the end of the month. They have 2 girls.
