Freaking out....please help.

I went for my first sono yesterday. The sono said I should be 7 weeks.

My gestational sac was measuring at 4.5 weeks. There was a pole and a yolk sac. It was too early for a heartbeat.

I am going back in for another sono next Thurs. The sono tech didn't seem too overly concerned....she said the EDD may be off because I ovulate late in my cycle.

I am FREAKING out. Anyone have an experience like this (with a positive outcome)?

ETA - I am not bleeding or cramping. I feel totally fine...usual exhaustion with being PG. She said that was a good sign, too. Is it possible for my sono to be THAT far off, date-wise?

Re: Freaking out....please help.

how long are your cycles? how do you know you usually ovulate late? if you have very long cycles, it wouldn't be too strange to miscalculate by 2 weeks if the office went by your LMP

Something similar happened to me, my cycles are longer than average. I "should have" been further along than I was. We saw the sac and pole but no heartbeat. I went back in two weeks and everything is perfect, heartbeat and all!

Please try not to stress, you are probably just earlier than you thought.

Good luck! Chat Icon

My cycles are typically long....30-33 days. I usually O around day 18-20, sometimes even later.

I spoke to my doctor tonight, who told me there is a good chance that my EDD is off because I O late.

Anyone else experience this?

Re: Freaking out....please help.

My cycles are 30-35 days. This time, I was measuring 5 days behind based on my LMP (but accurate with when I O'd). With my last pregnancy, I was pretty sure I O'd around CD 21 and I measured 1 week behind based on my LMP at my first sono.

How long ago did you get your BFP? 30-33 day cycles really aren't that long. The measurement would probably only be off by about a week or so. Chat Icon

I got my BFP on 12/25. I think the EDD based on my LMP. is off bc I ovulated around CD 21. I remember that when I was PG w my DD (3), my first EDD was a week off also. I am hopeful but nervous.
