Insomnia!

Anyone deal with this? I just read that it's pretty common in the 3rd trimester. Well I'm 27 weeks toady and last night was awful. I was up the whole night, got up at 4am to make some sub plans and call out sick (I usually get up for work at 5), and finally fell asleep at 6. This happened once a few months ago and I hope it won't become any more common. Anyone experience this and how do you deal?

Re: Insomnia!

Im only 15 weeks and Ive been dealing with it for weeks now... Dont know exactly how long, but I have nights where I go to bed nice and early then I wake up at 2am or 4am and Im up for an hour. I wake up about 545 for work so even though I fell asleep early because of this broken sleep I am DEAD TIRED in the morning and exhausted the entire day... This happens to me at least 3-4 times a week, at least. It even happens on the weekends...

I dont know what to do either to make it stop. Ive tried meditating before bed, which has helped me... And when I wake up I make myself take deep breaths, try to clear my mind and force myself to sleep... But mostly I just try to keep my eyes closed and let myself toss and turn because if I give into it and allow myself to wake up like play with my phone or try to turn a light on, itit just makes it worse in the morning...

Im sorry wish I had more advice to give, but do know your not alone... And if this gets worse in the 3rd trimester Im in it for it then!

Re: Insomnia!

I wake up several times a night and am up for a bout 30 min each time. I am pretty OK during the day, but am exhausted by 8/8:30pm.

I have this too at almost 25 weeks. even when im super-tired I ave trouble falling asleep. then I will wake up to pee & it will take me an hour to get back to sleep. or I will wake up from having a bad/weird dream & not be able to go back to sleep/not want to go back to sleep right away for fear the dream will continue (one involved my husband turning into a serial killer! LOL)

Yeah, no fun at all. But they say it's getting you ready for the baby coming! Chat Icon If it gets very bad, ask your doctor if benadryl or tylenol PM is ok to take! Mine was ok with it and it helped at the end.
